Nuestro Dia- By: Logan, Sarah, y Maddie

Hola. First a quick word to my family and then the events of the day.

Mom- I hope you are faring well without me to help you. Tell the kids hi for me.
Dad- They have THE BEST homemade lemonade here, I'm sad you can't try it.
Ray- Touch anything in my room and I will kill you. Your camera is still intact.
Maxy & Ty- Hope you guys are doin' good.

Today we painted for 8 hours. We ate a good lunch. We made this delicious dessert stuff and I discovered I like condensed milk. We played an epic game of "monkey in the middle," soccer edition. I fell a lot and am currently very muddy. I wish to shower so here I will sign off.

Pura Vida, Sarah

Salutations everyone!

Sarah graciously explained the events of the day for me so I don't have to do that. All I have to add is that our days are tiring and fun in the best of ways. Every morning we wake up to an alarm clock of a rooster and the bright sun,  at 5:30 in the morning. We have been painting a fence for the basketball court but unfortunately no one has picked up any martial arts skills. After a day of work we are ready for a delicious, unique dinner, so adios.

Logan

P.S. To my family, hola. I'm not dead and I can't wait to share all my stories with you.

Hola a todos,
It has been an amazing voyage so far. This year, I am staying in Arlin's house with Sarah and Logan. I can't possibly describe all the great times I've had already, but I will summarize a few. Every single meal has been unbelievably delicious. My experience from last year has helped me to avoid bugs and the like, so I'm embracing nature and trying not to be paranoid about ants and spiders. The past few days, I have alternated between painting fences and working on a mural on an aqueduct-containing building. You will have to look at the pictures to see for yourself! We have made tamales and presiños  (a delicious fried dessert item). We have picked fruits to make juice with. Something I realized today was that there is so much more time in the day when you are not doing things like checking your facebook all the time and playing videogames. I've been able to do more things and feel like the day can last forever even though they say that time goes faster when you're having fun. It's only 7 PM right now, but it's very dark already. We are going to eat dinner soon and then practice for our 2nd annual "CSD Talent Show." Tomorrow, we are going to paint some more and visit someplace where sugar cane is grown. Right now, I'm witnessing Anna get her makeup done by a cute little girl named Aranza. It doesn't look half bad. Well, I'm off to dinner! Love you, family, and thanks for reading, friends!
Pura Vida,
Maddie

  1. Sarah,
Incredibly enough, we are all surviving without you. Most notably, Maxwell has learned to sleep alone in his bed. Ray hasn't left his new computer long enough to enter your room or even contemplate it!
As a sidenote, I had to make a One to One appointment at Apple to figure out how to post a comment on this crazy blog. I'm at the Apple store with my One to One Consultant as I type. Thus, the very reason that you can read this comment.
    Much Love,
    Mom

  5. Glad that the bugs aren't biting (we hope)and bothering you. So glad that the work and the relationships are taking priority over technology and you are finding that rewarding and peaceful. Macey is missing you and looking forward to hearing more when you get home. Love, Mom and Dad
