Nick S - What a journey it was to get to this incredible land of Sitio de Mata. Over 6 hours on a plane and 3 in a bus. It was so worth it. I love this place, from its friendly people to its amazing scenery. Everyone here welcomed me with open arms and made me feel comfortable right away, which was a worry I had coming here. That is no longer a concern, my mother I stay with Senora Marta is very loving and nice to me. She is a good cook as well, I look forward to meals at home. I am rooming with Sam Allison which has been a new experience too. We have become closer already on this trip and I hope that continues. The kids here love to play soccer and basketball so I had no trouble fitting in when it came to that. We also made about 144 tamales which was a long but fun experience and they tasted amazing at the end. I look forward to the rest of my days here in Sitio de Mata helping out in whatever way I can and also building friendships with new people. PURA VIDA!!
Sam - So, as Nick said we room together which is both new and nice. As he also said the kids here love soccer/football and basketball the former being really awesome and something I would like to continue playing when I return to the US of A. I had such an awesome time playing with everyone yesterday and I don't think I did that bad either (in my opinion). I've really enjoyed being here and becoming close(er) with all of the people both from the group and from Sitio deMata and am probably in what will become the best experience of my life. I don't really have much more to say except that I have probably learned more spanish in three days than I ever did in school. That is... pretty much it... PEACE!
